Stage 1 — Qaida
Arabic Letter Recognition
All 29 letters in isolation, initial, medial and final forms. Students drill recognition until each letter is second nature — reading and writing practice included.
Our online Quran classes take complete beginners — children and adults alike — from the Arabic alphabet through to fluent Quran recitation. One-on-one with a certified teacher: Noorani Qaida, Nazra, and the foundational tajweed rules that make the difference. Learn Quran online at your own pace, from anywhere in the world.
What is it?
When families search for online Quran classes for kids, or adults decide it is finally time to learn Quran online, the Qaida is always the right place to begin. Qaida is the gateway to the Arabic script — students learn each of the 29 Arabic letters individually, their names, shapes and correct places of articulation (makharij al-huruf). Once letters are recognised, students learn how vowel marks (harakat) bring them to life and how letters join together to form words.
The most widely used text for this stage is the Noorani Qaida — the primer used in online Quran learning programmes worldwide for non-native Arabic speakers. Our Noorani Qaida online classes are supplemented with interactive exercises designed specifically for the digital classroom.
Nazra follows naturally from Qaida. Once the student has mastered the alphabet and basic joining, they open the Mushaf and begin reading the Quran onlinedirectly — Surah by Surah — under the teacher's live supervision and correction via Zoom or Google Meet. This is the heart of what makes our online Quran school different: every recitation is heard, corrected and guided in real time.
Curriculum
Every topic follows a clear sequence so students build genuine skill — not just surface familiarity.
Stage 1 — Qaida
All 29 letters in isolation, initial, medial and final forms. Students drill recognition until each letter is second nature — reading and writing practice included.
Stage 2 — Qaida
The precise points of articulation for every Arabic letter — throat, tongue, lips and nasal passage — so pronunciation is correct from the very beginning, not corrected later.
Stage 3 — Qaida
Short and long vowels, pause marks, nunation and the rules that govern them. Students learn to read fully vowelled Arabic text fluently before progressing to the Mushaf.
Stage 4 — Nazra
The student begins the Quran directly — from Surah Al-Fatiha through the 30 juz — reading aloud while the teacher listens, corrects and guides at every step.
Integrated Throughout
Essential rules — idgham, ikhfa, iqlab and qalqala — introduced gradually from the Qaida stage so correct recitation becomes a habit, not an afterthought.
Completion
Upon completing the full Quran with Nazra, students receive a Nūr Academy completion certificate and a personal recommendation for their next course — Tajweed, Hifz or Translation.

Every session is a private lesson — just student and teacher. No group classes, no waiting for others. Our one-on-one online Quran classesmean the teacher's full attention is always on your pronunciation and progress.
Choose morning, afternoon or late-night sessions. Our teachers cover time zones from Los Angeles to Lahore, so families in the US, UK, Middle East and beyond always find a convenient slot.
Our programme is built on the curricula of Wifaq ul Madaris, Darul Uloom Karachi and Jamia Tul Hasanain — the same institutions that have produced authentic Islamic scholars for generations.
Parents receive regular updates on their child's progress — which surahs have been completed, which letters still need attention and what the next steps are. Accountability built into every plan.
Instruction is available in پښتو, اردو, English or العربية — whichever the student is most comfortable with. For young children especially, learning in the home language accelerates early progress significantly.

Student Stories
"My son is 6 and had never touched the Qaida before. Within two months he was reading short surahs on his own. The teacher is incredible — so patient and the classes feel like a conversation, not a lesson."
"I am 42 and always felt embarrassed that I couldn't read the Quran properly. My teacher started from Qaida with me — zero judgment. Three months later I am reading Surah Al-Baqarah. Truly a life-changing experience."
"We enrolled all three of our children. The flexibility of scheduling around school and after-school activities makes it sustainable. The teachers are qualified scholars — not just tutors — and that makes a real difference."
Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your first class.
The best starting point is the Noorani Qaida — a structured primer that teaches Arabic letter recognition, articulation points (makharij) and how letters join to form words. Once the alphabet is solid, students progress to Nazra: reading the full Quran under a teacher's live guidance. Our one-on-one online Quran classes begin with a free trial that includes a level assessment, so you always start at exactly the right point.
Qaida is the foundational stage where students learn individual Arabic letters, their articulation points (makharij) and how to join them. Nazra is the next stage — reciting the Quran directly from the Mushaf with correct pronunciation. Together they form the complete beginner pathway to fluent Quran reading online.
Children as young as 4–5 years old can begin our online Quran classes for kids. Our teachers use age-appropriate methods — visual aids, repetition games and positive reinforcement — so even very young learners progress confidently and genuinely enjoy the process.
The timeline varies by student. Children typically complete the Noorani Qaida in 3–6 months and move through Nazra in 1–2 years depending on lesson frequency and home practice. Adults often progress faster through Qaida. Our one-on-one format means every student advances at their own pace, without pressure to keep up with a group.
Absolutely. Many of our adult students begin online Quran learning with zero Arabic background. The Qaida stage is designed precisely for absolute beginners. Our teachers are experienced with adult learners and create a comfortable, judgment-free environment. Starting later in life is nothing to be embarrassed about — it shows sincerity and commitment.
Yes. Every new student receives a free 30-minute trial class that includes a friendly level assessment and a personal recommendation from the teacher. There is no obligation to enrol and no payment details are required to book the trial.
You need a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop with a camera and microphone, plus a stable internet connection. All sessions run on Zoom or Google Meet — both free to download. Once you reach the Nazra stage, a printed Mushaf is helpful. No special software is required.
Noorani Qaida is the specific primer developed by Maulana Noor Muhammad Ludhianwi, designed to teach non-Arabic speakers to read the Quran step by step. It is the most widely used Qaida in the world and forms the basis of our Qaida stage, supplemented with our teachers' own structured exercises for the online classroom.
